The overwhelming response from volunteers and donors makes huge difference when the lack of resources for stranded residents is also hyper challenging.

in the aftermath of the unprecedented hurricane Helene that impacted Augusta (September 26, 2024) and a vast region of the country, the Joseph Ibarra Traina Foundation found itself since the launching of the site engaged in relief efforts. We will bring information as happens and announcements about the efforts to bring some relief to the people directly impacted.

Anyone with such information please send to the Foundation about events related to any kind of help and assistance.

The HUB on 631 Chafee Ave, was for a week the place where goods were provided to the public and utilized as the headquarters of the relief services. The relief operation that lasted for a week was executed incredibly well and was planned in a short period of time by the Community Foundation and partners.

10/14/2024 - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has opened a Disaster Recovery Center in Augusta-Richmond County to provide one-on-one help to Georgians affected by Hurricane Helene, including help applying for FEMA's Individual and Public Assistance programs, help applying for Small Business Administration loans, and more.
